SIMFEROPOL, Oct 10 (PRIME) -- Restoration of the bridge to Crimea from Russia should take a month or a month and a half, Crimea’s Head Sergei Aksyonov said in an interview to Rossiya 1 television channel broadcast on Monday.
“I think the forecast is that all the restoration works should be finished in a month or a month and a half, but I am not sure. So far, these are our expectations,” he said.
The traffic of trucks through the bridge should be restarted tentatively on Sunday, he added.
The National Anti-Terrorism Committee reported on October 8 that a section of the motorway on the Crimean Bridge was destroyed after a truck exploded in the morning with seven fuel tanks on a train traveling via the nearby rail part of the bridge catching fire. Three people were killed, and two car road sections collapsed partially, but the bridge’s arches were not damaged.
The railway traffic through the bridge was relaunched already on October 8.
